Clemente won the old 14th as an open seat. He replaced Ed Clemente keeping it in the family.
This district changed significantly, but is still solidly democrat albeit less so than before. The old district had parts of Allen Park, Ecorse, River Rouge, Melvindale, and Lincoln Park. The new 14th drops Ecorse and River Rouse to the 6th district, and Allen Park to the 13th. It picks up Wyandotte and Riverview instead.
This is a blue sink in an attempt to hold a different seat downriver.
