Steve Tobocman is the only white representative in Detroit. This district is the most racially mixed district entirely in Detroit. It covers Mexicantown, some black areas, and some mixed areas near Downtown. Tobocman is the most socially liberal rep in Detroit. He’s won twice, facing tough primaries every time. This year he faces Otis Mathis.
